With 25+ years of Senior Level experience across a diverse range of industries, Arif understands first-hand the intense drive and pressure to deliver high quality results in a competitive and constantly changing marketplace. As a result, Arif is not a theorist but a practitioner who can help find solutions for clients. He can walk the talk with experience and expertise and can also mentor clients within a coaching framework.

Leadership Experience

Prior to starting coaching, Arif was a Global Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Senior Vice President for Benesse Holdings Inc., a publicly traded USD 5B Japanese company covering approximately 40 group companies. In this capacity, Arif was one of less than three foreign CFO’s in a Top Tier Japanese Public Company. Arif previously also held leadership positions at Ford and Delphi (Automotive), Avon (Cosmetics/Direct Selling), Becton Dickinson (Medical Equipment), and at McCann Worldgroup (Advertising). Arif has extensive Board experience as a Board member in over 15 public and private companies across Japan, China, and the United States.

Arif is a tenured Professor of Leadership and Management at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan coaching high-potential students and teaching Leadership, Self-Management, Japanese Business Practices, and Finance.


Arif’s rich experience and diverse skill set as a world class CFO, a Board member, an Executive Coach, and as a Professor of Leadership makes him a very uniquely qualified individual to support client development. His experience in leadership roles allows him to understand the environment and demands on the leader. His advanced accreditation in coaching and academic standing allows him to use the latest knowledge, tools, and techniques for development and for helping the leader experiment with new behaviors on the job.

Born in Pakistan, educated in the US, and now living in Japan for over 20 years, his work and travels have taken him to more than 50 countries across Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe and the Americas which allow him to help leaders consider multi-cultural and global implications. Arif’s diverse leadership and coaching experiences coupled with his global citizenship bring a depth and richness to which people are quickly drawn to, and where they feel calm and safe and stimulated to pursue their growth needs.
